What would a window into infinite space look like? For the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Certain Measures developed a large-scale video projection to visualize this possibility. Imagined as an enfilade walk through an endless (and endlessly transforming) corridor, the projection plays with continuous permutations of solid and void, pattern and structure. On the one hand, the project is an homage to the early modernist experimental filmmaker Hans Richter, and on the other to the playful and elemental geometry of animators like Norman McLaren. The projection is an endlessly mutating image that is both graphically flat and endlessly deep at the same time.
